Last January, 2016, eleven school heads in the presence of their Public Schools District Supervisor dreamed to tour Pagadian City, Cotabato City, General Santos City and Davao City. Target date for the travel was February 18, 2016. However, it did not materialize due to some official and personal reasons.
Alhamdulillah, Regional Memorandum No. 125 s. 2016 was posted in Rio DepED-ARMM Facebook Website listed down specific pax from Sulu and Tawi-Tawi DepED personnel and BLGU officials. RM stated that the journey would start with April 18-22 but it moved to April 19, 2016. The target venue of the Lakbay Aral 2016 was GENSAN, Sarangani Province, Davao City and Panabo.
he 1st Batch pax from Indanan South District was spearheaded by PSDS Samoore S. Ladjahali together with his eleven school administrators, name: 1. Dr. Hja. Sarah Y. Hayudini, ESP - I of Palan ES; 2. Nur-aisha A. Gonzales, ESP - I of Kasambuhan Village ES; 3. Hja. Nalda J. Muksan, ESP - I of Langpas ES and Annex; 4. Faisal A. Kadil, ESHT - III of Pasil ES; 5. Melda I. Adug, ESHT - III of Mukammali ES; 6. Mussah A. Arabain, ESHT - III of Panglima Ahajan ES; 7. Jurmainna H. Hunding, ESHT - III of Bunot ES and Annexes; 8. Alyasir A. Hussam, TIC of Poblacion ES and Annex; 9. Andrada M. Asid, TIC of Panglima Indanan Central School; 10. Masdida M. Sarabi, TIC of Timbangan ES; and 11. Josefina S. Ajijul, School Caretaker of Panglima Mammah ES.
18 vans picked 1st Batch Lakbay Aral participants up in Pettit Barracks, Zamboanga City last April 19, 2016. Zamboanga City Hall did not permit 18 vans to come simultaneously to Pikit Barak. Thus, Assembly area for the arrangement of numbered vans from 1 to 18 was in Boalan, Zamboanga City near Zamboanga Bus Terminal. Most of the ISD school heads were in Van 4. The PSDS and 2 school heads were in Van 9 together with Indanan North District participants. It was almost 10:00 AM when the 18 vans left Zamboanga in a sequential manner.
Official stop over of the 1st Batch Lakbay Aral pax was in Pagadian City where every participant and van driver would have to take lunch. However, it was unavoidable to have to scatter along the National Highways due to personal necessities specifically urination. After Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay, vans of BLGU officials were first to pause along the highway fronting rice field that's why everybody went out the vans for urination. Afterwards, ISD vans looked for sari-sari store to fill their bellies. An ice cream seller appeared in the sidewalk that made ISD DepED personnel and BLGU officials so happy.
At around past 2 PM, bellies of the Lakbay Aral 2016 pax were filled in the restaurant of Pagadian City where the journey continued to Cotabato City doing stop over at Gandingan for urination and arrived almost 7 PM in the Em Manor Hotel.
At Em Manor Hotel, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi Lakbay Aral 2016 participants gathered before a short program before dinner. Master of the ceremony was Asec for Special Programs and Projects, Mr. Alfhadar Pajiji. Regional DepED-ARMM Secretary, Dr. John A. Magno came in with his inspirational message. Reimbursement for every participant was done after dinner.
In the morning of April 20 after breakfast, Regional Secretariats for Lakbay Aral 2016 distributed with-collar t-shirt for each participant before leaving for General Santos City passing by Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, Koronadal City or Marbel City, Tupi and Polomolok.
Stop over was firstly done in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat followed by in the nearby entrance towards GENSAN. Boarding and lodging was in East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City.
After lunch, the PSDS advised the school heads and Indanan BLGU to put off their uniforms and change to ordinary attire for shopping at G-Mall, Veranza and KCC so that the t-shirt would be used in going to visit elementary school in Sarangani Province the following day.
After dinner, the PSDS led his school heads and BLGU to Oval where amazing show was held. In Oval, there was also carnaval entertainment that made ISD participants more enjoyable in GENSAN.
Both DepED personnel and BLGU participants went on a room-to-room visit in Maribulan Elementary School before they gathered themselves in front of the stage where short program and video presentation were made. SDS and ASDS of Sarangani Province were present warmly welcoming the Lakbay Aral 2016 officials led by Mr. Alfhadar Pajii, Asec for Special Programs and Projects and his Secretariats.
The principal and teachers of Maribulan ES flashed their best practices on the scree before the crowd of DepED-ARMM Lakbay Aral personnel and officials. The Barangay Chairperson of Maribulan also presented video thru powerpoint how Barangay Maribulan supported the school. Open forum came next that made Hja. Darwisa K. Jakiram, Chairwoman of Barangay Tagbak stand for clarification on effective financial assistance to school.
After Maribulan ES, Provincial Capitol of Sarangani appeared in many camera of the participants. Staff of the provincial governor invited the Asec for Special Programs and Projects for a room-to-room visit the different chambers of the provincial employees and officials. It was here the 18 vans fixed its readiness to trace the GENSAN-Davao National Highway.
Marco Polo Hotel waited for Lakbay Aral 2016 pax ridden in 18 vans with a capacity of 18 passengers but there were only 12 pax per van for the convenience of the passengers. Designated hall for the proper arrangement of participants was in the ground floor of Marco Polo. Checking in happened before dinner. Per room accommodated at least three persons. Stay in Marco Polo served as rest of the participants in preparation of their visit to Organic Farm in Panabo City on the following day, April 21, 2016.
Three taxis loaded ISD participants to Jack's Ridge, Davao City after dinner. It's a little hill where night view of Davao City could be seen. Afterwards, PSDS Moore brought them down the road to Magsaysay to eat Davao durian and pummelo.
On April 21, 2016, Asec Pajiji led the Lakbay Aral 2016 participants to Panabo City to visit Organic Farm. Panabo is between Davao City and Tagum City. They were back to Marco Polo early in the afternoon of the same day. The ISD PSDS was no longer with his group to Panabo City because of the 2-Day Workshop on Showcasing SBM conducted at Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City from April 22-23, 2016.
As advised by the Asec for Special Programs and Projects, the PSDS got back again to be with his group in Marco Polo right after the day's activity in Grand Regal Hotel. In the evening of April 22 after dinner, Lakbay Aral 2016 DepED personnel and BLGU officials remained in the dining room for the sharing activity gained from the 2-day visit to Maribulan ES and Panabo.
Asec Pajiji recognized two supervisors from every division of Sulu and Tawi-Tawi to give sharing, insights, reflections or observation learned from the Lakbay Aral journey. Likewise, two BLGU officials would say something from Sulu and Tawi-Tawi respectively.
The last part of the sharing was the schedule of return from Davao City to Zamboanga City. As advised by Asec Pajiji, every participant should check out at 3:00 o'clock AM of April 23. The 18 vans should leave Davao City passing by Cotabato City, Pagadian City until Zamboanga City. Stop over would be in Pagadian. Hence, every participant was given a pack of breakfast. Alhamdulillah, they arrived Zamboanga City safely around 8:30 in the evening of April 23.
