Dayuan was just a primary school for many years ago. It catered Kindergarten to Grade 4 learners last 2015. In June, 2016, the Public Schools District Supervisor, Samoore S. Ladjahali installed Delda J. Amdan as TIC (Teacher In-Charge) of the school. Mrs. Jamiri elevated the school into complete elementary beginning June, 2017.
The school began providing education services in just a school shack manned by Ma'am Naim in 90's. It was annexed to Panglima Indanan Central School headed by Siladjan J. Jamiri, former principal and retired supervisor of Indanan South District. It is situated between the boundary of Barangay Timbangan and Barangay Bunot, Indanan, Sulu. Geographically, Dayuan Elementary School belongs to Barangay Timbangan. It is also by the roadside of Indanan-Parang National Highway at about 10.5 kilometers away from the proper town of Jolo. The complete independence of Dayuan Elementary School just began in 2016. Aside from being independent school, she also became mother school of Lugmah Primary School.
