International Recognition for the DIC

It was 27th day of March, 2015 when Pasil Elementary School conducted Graduation Exercises 2015 joined with Panglima Ahajan Elementary School in the Gym, Multi-Purpose, Pasil, Indanan, Sulu. It was the foremost happening in my part as Assistant Staff of Albert Santoli, President of Asia America Initiative (AAI) assigning me to present Certificate of Achievement to deserving DepED-Sulu educators who are committed and sincere in the delivery of AAI education services and supplies to all MOBE (Model Of Bawgbug Education) schools in Sulu.

District In-Charge, Sir Samoore "Moore" S. Ladjahali was the first awardee to receive this international recognition. He was not definitely aware that I would be in the clustered graduation ceremony where he was officially authorized by the SDS, Ma'am Tim J. Undain to confirm the graduates in lieu of District Commissioner, Sir Alvarez A. Salaton, Principal - II.

It was also timely for me as AAI Assistant Staff in Sulu Chapter to witness the probability of Sir Moore.  I personally heard him proclaiming the graduates in the absence of the Schools Division Superintendent before the master of ceremony read to the crowd the citation in AAI Certificate of Achievement that should go. . .to Sir Moore. I also saw and listened to the message of Sir Asec Noor Saada, invited by Sir Samoore as guest speaker of the occasion. 

Issuance of AAI recognition to Sir Samoore bridged us to know with each other. Yes, on my part he is familiar to me but on his side. . . indeed, he did not know me well that I am his cousin-in-law. I can say this because he is second cousin of my mother-in-law. . . he, he, he!

But anyway, congratulations again, DIC Samoore S. Ladjahali for being active and competent District In-Charge of Indanan South District.

In Hands Lies the Chance

It's about the cover photo of this newly-revised site. No hands are down, right? It's not because they are winners. They're already champions. Regional Office and the Profiles Asia attribute them to CI champions of DepED-ARMM. It is a Continuous Improvement of the hands. It was a great chance for them to be there. Perhaps, every one who looks at it intends to be with them. That chance; however; was not for every dreamer unless he/she is NQESH passer of the last 2012. If not, it is for the DSLP graduates of the SEAMEO-Innotech.

Benchmarking was an amazing achievement of the DepED-ARMM wherein every division, both mainland and island was represented only by two participants. Our pride and salutation to this District should be deeply offered from the bottom of our inners. Not just to the DIC and Hja. Nalda J. Muksan, ESHT - 3 of Langpas ES but to the prayers and dreams of our educational stakeholders.

The journey rooted from the Regional Planning Actvity for CI Benchmarking that was routed to NCR, CALAVARZON and Region IV last March 2-8, 2015. The planning workshop lasted for two days at Alnor Hotel, Cotabato City last February, 2015. More than 30 pair of hands got busy just make sure the certainty of CI exploration.

The top cover photo disclosed the mystery of CI to every Benchmarking participant of the DepED-ARMM. You could just imagine. . . they were able to orbit the galaxy in a little building of Mind Museum at the Global City. Out of their expectations, enormous cosmos appeared on their sights that made them what you visualize in the photo above. Did they forget themselves? Were they feeling kids-like educators of the other school children?

Man's hands are the most concerned parts of the human physical body. It gives widest solace for the entirety of one's being especially in time of illness, hunger and thirst. So, let's be with our working hands along the path of CI.

NOW starts the responsibility for DepEd ARMM to continue and expand CI implementation across ARMM schools to be led by our trained pool of CI champions.

Am I 1-Day SDS?

Commissioner to the district from DepED-Sulu Division is Mr. Alvarez A. Salaton, Principal - II detailed at the Division Office. He had been also the District Commissioner in 2013. So, it is his second time around in the district. Unfortunately, his commissionership is not just for Indanan South District but he is also for Patikul East, Indanan North, and Indanan National High Schools with two annexes.

In this regard, the Schools Division Superintendent signed Division Memorandum authorizing all district supervisors/districts in-charge and secondary school principals to confirm the year's graduates in place of their respective commissioner due to conflict of time. Mr. Salaton convened with the DIC and the school administrators for the finalization of graduation. It resulted to the official schedule of 2015 graduation exercises stipulated in the school calendar 2014 that graduation exercises should not be earlier than March 26-27, 2015.

Two DOC Members Reach ABIS

The DIC and Head Teacher - III of Langpas ES joined the DepED-ARMM Benchmarking Activity on Continuous Improvement (CI) to NCR, CALABARZON and Region IV last March 2-8, 2015.

In the final day of school visit, Andres Bonifacion Integrated warmly welcomed the DepED Benchmarking participants spearheaded by Regional DepED-ARMM Secretary, Atty. Jamar M. Kulayan, Asec for Programs and Projects, Dr. Noor Mohammad D. Saada, Executive Assistant III, Mr. Alfhadar Pajiji, Regional Planning Director, Mr. Marjuni Maddi, and the Profiles Asia. 

ABIS is not just attractive and most performing school. It is; however; idiosyncratic combination of both elementary and secondary schools. DepED-ARMM Benchmarking participants ruminated not just on CI adoption in ABIS; rather; how it emerges in ARMM.

e-Room

Joy Sanchez, Division Coordinator on Kindergarten urgently requested the appearance of DIC in her office prior to the arrival of Ramadhan 2013. She revealed that 4 elementary schools in Indanan South District will be recipients of e-Classroom under DepED Computerization. Every selected school Program launched by DepED Central Office. Every selected school will be given 6 computer units power by only 1 CPU with 1-year free internet connection and other ICT facilities provided the school can afford to show some counterpart requirements. Confirmation of every e-Classroom recipient school was immediately needed by the e-Class Coordinator. Accordingly, the facilities and installation would be arriving after Ramadhan so long as the school would meet the requirements. In the event any school fails to produce the said requirements, all e-Class facilities will be brought back to the DepED Central Office.

Except Panglima Mammah Elementary School, the rest could hardly disclose their firm decisions. TIC of Timbangan Elementary School was stunned with a reason that the entire neighborhood of Barangay Timbangan was suffering from Sulu Electric Cooperative (SULECO) disconnection caused by their unpaid electric bill worth hundred thousands. Similarly, Sitti Palman I. Mohammad former Principal of Poblacion Elementary School faced the same issues on electricity like what Timbangan experienced. Head Teacher – III of Pasil Elementary School positively assured that counterpart requirements were not burden for Pasil Elementary School. Thus, Mrs. Sanchez handed to them the guidelines for the preparation of e-Classroom Program as follows:

1. Classroom should be 9 meters x 7 meters or approximately 63 sq. m. in floor area and should be ready to house two Host PC and Six Computer Terminals.
2. Four computer tables:  1. Two 4.8 x 0.8 meters; 2. One 1.8 x 0.8 meters; and one 0.5 x 0.8 meters
3. Fifty pieces of mono chairs
4. Two units of stand fan
5. Sufficient lighting
6. Window and door grills
7. Proper electrical wirings with circuit breaker
8. Standard electrical outlets with appropriate load capacity
9. Electrical grounding
10. Cables for the ceiling
11. Mounted projector
12. One VGA cable (15 meters) – a VGA cable is a lead used for transmitting video signals. It is most commonly used to link computers with monitors. However, it is now used on some high definition televisions.

In as much as Masdida M. Sarabi is newly-designated TIC of a big school, Timbangan ES, the DIC decided to visit her school for assistance. He asked the TIC about the full details of issues and concerns of Timbangan ES in relation to the preparation for e-Classroom. Afterwards, he provided the TIC with some strategic actions to optimistically resolve the issues. After three days, Mrs. Sarabi raised her thumb up as she saw the DIC coming again to her school. She gladly informed the DIC that SULECO would be ready to reconnect electricity to every consumer’s house. Aside from it, PTCA officers and other members were busy constructing tables required by e-Class. What awesome initiative and potentials of newly-installed TIC!

Further, the DIC visited Sitti Palman I. Mohammad, ESP – I of Poblacion Elementary School where he heard pessimistic expectation from the principal concerning the realization of e-Classroom in said school. It took time for the DIC to motivate and convince the principal for the alternative courses of action that must be done. Luckily, Timbangan ES success for the preparation of e-Class counterparts gradually made Ms. Mohammad to try it in her school. Fifty percent of the preparation was almost done when she was reassigned to head Panglima Indanan Central School last July 30, 2013 and Alyasir A. Hussam, former TIC of Dayuan-Manilop Primary School took the full school leadership authority in Poblacion Elementary School. Two days ago, the TIC related to the DIC what he did in connection with the preparation for e-Class. It seemed that was very pleasant to ears as the TIC stating the full details of his efforts. He concluded that Poblacion would be now ready for the arrival of e-Class. Another fantastic TIC!

Faisal A. Kadil was just installed last year to oversee Pasil Elementary School when the DIC accepted the District Turn-over made by retired Supervisor, Hji. Abdulgafor J. Madjaluddin last July 16, 2012. Regardless of his insufficient administrative experience, Mr. Kadil possessed huge optimism that everything would be possible if focused-efforts to strive for the attainment of goal would be there. With it, he was first to post at DOC some photos of his counterpart requirements for the e-Class.
