Manilop in the Midst of Hidden Beauty

MANILOP means able to lose somebody out of consciousness. It is a place attributed to Barangay Manilop located near the roadside of Poblacion-Lapa National Highway. Likewise, it is the name that Manilop Primary School originated.

Manilop PS is one of the old schools in Indanan District since before the outbreak of Martial Law on September 21, 1972. It is about 300 meters away from Lawang-Lawang or Kasiya, sitio of Barangay Poblacion. Thus, the school is annexed to Poblacion Elementary School headed by Alyasir A. Hussam, TIC.

Presently, Manilop PS has only one nationally-funded teacher, Nuradal A. Rabbayani, Provisional Teacher and three volunteer teachers. Despite the insufficient number of teachers, the school appears performing because of the strong support and involvement of parents, community members and barangay officials. Volunteer teachers receive monthly allowance from the office of the barangay chairman. School building increased and even Day Care is functionally operated thru the initiative of Barangay Captain, Umar Suhaili. The school looks always clean and attractive due to the conduct of Brigada Eskwela spearheaded by the barangay officials and the officers of the PTCA/SGC. One of the most remarkable tangible projects of the community is the set of instruments intended for the school band.

The school and the PTCA/SGC team came up the idea to provide learners with school band whe the District Federation of PTCA/SGC Officers did it for the Indanan South District and it is under the custody of Panglima Indanan Central School learners.

In 2013 Manilop PS ornamented the District Meet parade with a beautiful float using push cart with muse and escort riding on it.

In 2014, Manilop PS improved more in terms of its ornamental look along the District Meet parade from Barangay Panabuan to Pasil ES Playground.

Manilop PS can excell even elementary school in producing parents and school children to participate in District Meet parade.

The parents were so proud to support their school children. They left their works for one day just to join the parade.

The beauty of Manilop PS was designed by Nuradal A. Rabbayani, Provisional Teacher, Suharto S. Alpha, Volunteer Teacher and other volunteer teachers funded by the Barangay Chairperson.

Here's the parents from Manilop PS eating with children in the playground of Pasil ES.

In 2014 District Meet parade, Manilop truly excelled in the beauty of their participation.

What a beautiful float is!
