For the first in the history of Indanan South District schools, the Philippine National Police joined the conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2015 of Panglima Mammah Elementary School headed by School Caretaker and Master Teacher - I, Josefina S. Ajijul. Both policemen and policewomen sincerely offered their services in connection with Brigada Eskwela. In the past years, the Philippine National Police just safeguarded the teachers especially in time of volatile peace and order situation. Their mobile jeep was always in front of the teachers' convoy whenever threat among teachers happened. They escorted the teachers' vehicle to their respective schools in the morning and then they also did it in the afternoon when teachers were about to go home for Jolo from Monday to Friday. This manner lasted for months particularly in Panglima Mammah Elementary School whose tragic happening for teachers' hired tamaraw happened last March 10, 2015 that caused the fatality of Panglima Mammah ES teachers' driver. The Philippine National Police of Indanan really contributed much for the conduct of graduation exercises 2014 of Panglima Mammah ES. Likewise, the opening of classes in June, 2015 ran smoothly because of the security and safety provided by the PNP for the teachers.
What was so amazing now was the collaboration of the PNP in the implementation of Brigada Eskwela 2015. They painted the classrooms while the teachers and pupils were busy sweeping the classrooms, backyards and the playground and the parents were cutting the shrubs.
Furthermore, there was another team or unit participating in Brigada Eskwela 2015 conducted in Kasambuhan Village Elementary School located at Km. 4, sitio of Barangay Tagbak, Indanan, Sulu and headed by Nur-aisha A. Gonzales, Principal - I. This team or forces were known to the people of Sulu as members of the Philippine National Police, too. To be more distinctive; however; these men in uniforms were under the Bureau of Fire Protection. These forces are in public knowledge for fire extinguisher, aren't they?
Where do you see them most of the time? How often do you see them in school? In Jolo, Sulu for instance, in what schools did you see them? What were they doing in those schools? What comes to your mind when you happen to see them with their long red truck loaded with big hose? Is there anything you may imagine aside from fire?
Now, here they were in the school stood near the house of MNLF Chairman, Kaid Ajibon. They were not alone; rather; they were with their long red truck designed with water tank which was also filled with water. Have you seen smoke in Km. 4? Is the school built attached to the houses in the neighborhood? At that time, fire was not the cause of these men in black uniforms being there. The teachers, pupils, parents and other community members prepared the schools for the opening of regular classes on June 1, 2015. Forces from Bureau of Fire Protection drove their truck there. They washed and cleaned the flooring and other parts of the school buildings using their water tank and big hose. It was the contribution of Bureau of Fire Protection men in the observance of Brigada Eskwela 2015 in Kasambuhan Village Elementary School. This involvement of PNP and BFP during Brigada Eskwela had never happened ever since except this year's Brigada Eskwela 2015.
So, the teachers, learners, parents and other supporters of Kasambuhan Village Elementary School were feeling delighted and thankful for the company of BFP men with them in making school well-prepared for the learners on June 1, 2015.
