DepEd Eyes Improving Medium of Instruction in Primary School Years

The title of this blog post was taken from this URL (Uninformed Resource Locator). The above-posted photo is snipped from the result of 2018 PISA. It shows those Top-20 countries that successfully rank on top are enumerated below:
  1. Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang (China)
  2. Singapore
  3. Macao (China)
  4. Hong Kong (China)
  5. Estonia
  6. Canada
  7. Finland
  8. Ireland
  9. Korea
  10. Poland
  11. Swedean
  12. New Zealand
  13. United States
  14. United Kingdom
  15. Japan
  16. Australia
  17. Chinese Taipei
  18. Denmark
  19. Norway
  20. Germany
Out of 20 top-participating countries, there are only 6 English-speaking nations like Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom and Australia. No English-speaking countries fell under Top 5, but the 2 English-speaking Canada and Ireland were in Top 10 while New Zealand, United States and United Kingdom chanced to be in Top 15. PISA result should also be studied carefully not just focusing on the failure of Philippines in that assessment. Rank of those English-speaking countries in PISA gives DepED-Philippines a true picture not to apply again and again English language as the medium of instruction in the primary level of education.
