3-day workshop conducted by the National Educators Academy of the Philippines
at Astoria Plaza, Escriva Drive, Pasig City from May 20-22, 2015. Seventeen
regions of the Philippines participated in the 3-day national workshop. There
were schools division superintendents, education program supervisors, district
supervisors/in-charge, elementary school principals, secondary school
principals and master teachers. Other education service providers like NGOs
were also present in the workshop.
The workshop focused on professional teacher development targeting LAC (Learning Action Cells) be revitalized with policy guidelines for it sustainable implementation in the school level. Out of 17 regions represented by DepED participants, NEAP Central Office, Australian Aid and BEST (Basic Education Sector Transformation) just required one presentation from DpED while the non-DepED education service providers should all present their programs on teacher development. ARMM region represented by Indanan South District became the choice for presentation in the morning of Day 2. Presentation was about the existing best practices on professional teacher development in connection with LAC observed in the school level.
The DIC outlined the following areas in less that 20 slides emphasizing its purpose, topics, method, organizers and frequency:
- School monthly INSET
- District post conference
- Monthly District Learning Forum (DLF)
In the afternoon of Day 1, the DIC belonged to Group 4 doing two activities.

ACTIVITY 2
In the afternoon of Day 2, regrouping occurred. The DIC joined the Group 3 for the final activity. It was an activity where bloody discussions with different high ranking officials of DepED were so bloody. It would be about the finalization of LAC Implementation Policy Guidelines containing key points below.
