Last July 20, 2015 at Pasil, Indanan, Sulu, Hon. Mayor, Saripuddin "Eddih" D. Jikiri declared the 2-Day Hariraya Pu-asa Celebration 2015 though it was not a non-working holiday in the entire Municipality of Indanan. Eid'l Fit'r Commemoration has already been a practice of the municipal government since the rise of Eddih. Previously, non-working days for the line agencies in Indanan were officially enjoined by virtue of municipal memorandum except this year's hariraya celebration.
As traditionally observed, the Hariraya Pu-asa Celebration is usually conducted by the municipal mayor in the facade of Municipal Office, Pasil, Indanan, Sulu guided by the following program of activities:
- Opening programme
- Cultural presentation
- Athletics
In the preparation of the Eid'l Fit'r entertainment, the municipal government of Indanan formed some various committees to work cooperatively for the inspiring success and highlights of the hariraya activities, namely: 1. Executive Committee; 2. Program and Invitation; 3. Finance, Foods and Prizes; 4. Stage and Physical Arrangement; and 5. Public Safety and Security.
Vice Mayor, Salip Alan-Nahier S. Jainal opened the program with introductory message and some reminding remarks concerning the significant virtues of the on-leaving Ramadhan 2015. He stressed the sacrifices and obedience of Moslem believers during Ramadhan period as a manifestation of their true allegiance to Allah (S.W.T) and His Noble Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) in the way of embracing Islam and fulfilling of both obligatory and optional amal (Works) as prescribed in the Holy Quran and Hadith.
"In sha Allah, our fasting in the month of blessed Ramadhan caused forgiveness of our sins to Almighty Allah," hoped by the Vice Mayor. "With this, every one of us must also forgive one another," he continued.
Mayor Eddih gripped the microphone for a pleasant sound of his closing message of the opening program in the first day of the memorable event. He expounded the mercy of Allah bestowed on those who observed fasting in the recent Ramadhan until its culmination, the Eid'l Fit'r Memorial. His emphasis focused on kindness and love among Tausug and constituents of Indanan Municipality. He further elicited the nobility of love and kindness among the entire humanity.
"We must, indeed show kindness and love with one another so that Allah would also show His Kindness and Love to each of us," expressed by the Mayor.
In closing, Hon. Eddih recited dua (Supplication) and asked every member of the Eid Gathering to raise both hands for the Mercy of Allah.
