Partnership Spells Success

In the Indanan South District Office yesterday, January 13, 2017, Sharifa Mharrojheanne A. Alih, ISD AAI/ICT Coordinator updated PSDS Moore about what Prof. Albert M. Santoli suggested over the construction of Handwashing and Toothbrushing Facility in the schools of Indanan South District, Indanan, Sulu. Prof. Santoli also inquired from PSDS Moore if Poblacion Elementary School, Timbangan Elementary School and Manilop Elementary School would be in need of said facility. Sir Moore confirmed only Manilop; however; TIC, Kauzar I. Jawang is busy on her school canteen construction that aims to assure nutritious foods for the school children.

According to Coordinator Sharifa that the AAI President committed to give 65% counterpart for the erection of Handwashing and Toothbrushing Facility while the rest percentage should go to the school community of the recipient AAI programs and projects. If for instance P 15, 000.00 shall be the total cost of the expenses, the 65% of that is P 9, 750.00 coming from Asia America Initiative. The 35% of P 15, 000.00 is; therefore; P 5, 250.00 expected from the school community qualified for the facility construction.

PSDS Moore, "Sharifa, tell Prof. I am not in favor of the implementation of facility construction unless recipient school shall accomplish Project Proposal Forms prescribed by ISD and AAI together with its Partnership Form," Sir Sam advised the AAI Coordinator.

ISD-AAI collaboration recently came up with new 4 P's Framework that aims for sustainable peace and posterity in the Municipality of Indanan. Educational programs implementation shall be the vehicle for the attainment of that aim in collaborations with NGO like Asia America Initiative, an international NGO led by Prof. Santoli and many other stakeholders. ISD believes education is everybody's business nowadays. It is everyone's concern in life. One gives value to education if one financially spends for it.

In a prescribed Form of Partnership, monetization of efforts, skills, time and other resources of the parents, community members, BLGU and other stakeholders of the recipient school is required. P 5, 250.00 (35% of P 15, 000.00), for example shall be shouldered by the aforementioned stakeholders of the school. The school shall submit the properly accomplished Forms to AAI Coordinator with attached show-financial cash as a manifestation of their willingness to build partnership with AAI. Afterwards, signing of MOU among partners shall follow. AAI partnership and Manilop Community could be the best example for this kind of partnership when both partners mutually agreed to build Kindergarten Classroom Construction measured with 7 x 9 square meters in sub-standard form. Target date of completion was successfully achieved. Finally, it ended with an amazing inauguration because of the powerful involvement of all concerned in the community of Manilop.

The Public Schools District Supervisor also made a strong suggestion to Prof. Santoli for the re-alignment of all AAI programs if the counterpart will just be shouldered by the school head and teachers. K to 12 Curriculum of Philippine Basic Education repeatedly encourages school to maximize the involvement, participation, collaboration and partnership among education stakeholders in promoting quality education.

Lastly, Sir Moore would not recommend any school even though the school is qualified for the counterpart among education stakeholders unless there is available water source in the school campus. The core of the Handwashing Facility is to observe the 10-minute washing of Kindergarten to Grade 6 students from Monday to Friday (From June to March).
