Expanded Maternity Leave Law - 2017

All covered female workers in government and the private sector, including those in the informal economy, regardless of civil status or the legitimacy of her child, shall be granted one hundred twenty (120) days maternity leave with pay and an option to extend for an additional thirty (30) days without pay, provided, that, in case the worker qualifies as a solo parent under Republic Act No. 8972, or the Solo Parents' Welfare Act, the worker shall be granted one hundred fifty (150) days maternity leave with pay.

Indanan PNP Plans to Put Up Police Desk in ISD Schools

Two members of the Indanan Philippine National Police visited Indanan South District Office last Monday, June 11, 2018. They asked a copy of district consolidated operation quick count enrollment of the 18 elementary schools in Indanan South District.

3 Schools of ISD are not on the Roadside of the Indanan-Parang National Highway

Out of 18 schools in Indanan South District, there are 3 schools located further away from the main road of Indanan-Parang National Highway. It is Cmdr. Bara Jalaidi Elementary School, Lugmah Elementary School and Sapie Elementary School.

Supersam Monitors the Newly-elevated Elementary Schools

On the first day of classes, June 4, 2018, Supersam, the Public Schools District Supervisors visited the newly-elevated elementary schools of Indanan South District. There were three primary schools raised to complete elementary status beginning this year 2018.

Indanan Hymn

This video clip is Indanan Hymn composed by Hji. Iriles N. Ladjabassal, Municipal Information Officer of the Municipality of Indanan, Sulu. It was firstly sung by both barangay and municipal officials during the closing program of the Indanan Municipal Anniversary at Pasil, Indanan, Sulu last November 21-22, 2016. Hji. Iriles also led the group of officials in singing the hymn.

Hadis From Volunteer Teacher of Bunot ES

Nurmihar J. Mustali is a volunteer teacher of Bunot Elementary School, Bunot, Indanan, Sulu under the stewardship of Jurmainna H. Hunding, Head Teacher III.  She sang hadis during the opening program of the District Meet 2015 conducted at Pasil Elementary School, Pasil, Indanan, Sulu from September 28-30, 2015.

1 Successful ISD Passer in PT

As years went on, NQESH changed to PT (Principal's Test). Indanan South District applied again for the said exam in 2017. Two school heads enrolled until both took the exam. They were Josefina S. Ajijul, TIC of Panglima Mammah Elementary School and Andrada M. Asid, TIC of Panglima Indanan Central School.

Successful ISD Passers in NQESH

In October, 2012, the NEAP (National Educators Academy of the Philippines) administered for the very first time NQESH (National Qualifying Examination for School Heads) in Grand Stand, Jolo, Sulu in partnership with DepED-ARMM under the able leadership of Atty. Jamar M. Kulayan, the Regional DepED-ARMM Secretary.

Tausug Folk Dance: Tawti

Abruptly requested by the Text2Teach Training-Workhop Management Team, multi-talented volunteer teacher from Kasambuhan Village Elementary School, Alnasvier I. Abduljalil assisted by Darchona E. Sauddin of Indanan North District played a Tausug folk dance, the so-called Tawti. Agung, Tausug instruments accompanied their steps and their mode of diving into the deep sea. This was captured and published last September 20, 2014.

ISD Harmonics Entertainment in District Meet 2015: Bagay Sadja

Just right after the Words of Welcome by Sir Faisal A. Kadil, Head Teacher 3 of Pasil Elementary School, the venue of District Athletic Meet 2015, the ISD Harmonics played an entertainment in Tausug song for the lisening pleasure of the 11 elementary schools, 7 primary schools and 3 Indanan Nationa High Schools.

Simple But Melodious Tausug Song: Mayta' Baha'

Mayta’ Baha’ is simple but melodious Tausug song. Supersam was preparing report some reports in his personal computer that day when some guys of his neighbors were downstairs listening to a one boy singing many Tausug songs accompanied by his Spanish guitar. Suddenly, he noticed one song which was very pleasing to his ears due to clear accompaniment. As the song ended, he shouted from upstairs signaling for replay the song and he handed his mobile phone to them for record.

A Well-known Novel of Tausug: Katakata (Folktale)

Panukilan refers to literature in Tausug. Written works of the olden time in Lupa'sug (Sulu) were done through nukil writing. Most of their writings were religious or Islamic knowledge, rituals and songs or somewhat like psalm. Most of their songs were ballad accompanied by instruments like 'gabbang' and 'biyula' (violin). Tausug Panukilan (Tausug Literature) was rich in folklores like tales, psalms and folktales (manga katakata). This posted audio-video file is an example of folktale of those Tausug folks.
