I was supposed to board M/V Mary Joy 3 for Zam-Jolo on the 19th day of September when I heard Sir Dr. Joel A. Alamia saying, "Replace me." My reply was to ask what kind of workshop that I should attend in his behalf. Accordingly, it was just a module workshop. I accepted his trust on me. It was almost 4:00 PM when my better half and I entered the pawnshop under Southern City Colleges. Alhamdulillah, 2-Go availed me in PAL promo.

DLF for the Month of August 2016

Indanan South District continued the implementation of monthly DLF (District Learning Forum) among school administrators and teachers, sometimes. The DLF aims to provide educational inputs for the school heads and teachers. It was created and agreed upon by all school heads since 2013 based on the advice of former DepED-ARMM Secretary, Hon. Atty. Jamar M. Kulayan. The Secretary stressed that every district should have a monthly brainstorming among school officials for the improvement of school performance focused on the learning outcomes of the learners.

I Wonder Why

I was surprised to see my ruined table with new table cloth. It was a time when I was District In-Charge shared district office with Indanan North District. I learned it came from this teacher, Ma'am Hja. Juanita U. Isnain. I did not asked her to do what she did.

One day, she chanced to visit the newly-renovated district office thru the financial assistance of DepED-ARMM Secretary, Dr. John A. Magno.

As she stepped on the door, "Wow, nice office! I'll donate curtains.
"I don't need your donation" PSDS replied.
She was stunned. PSDS Moore observed that she was hurt. He asked her to sit in front of him comforting her to donate table cloth if she would really be willing to donate. She immediately nodded. PSDS Sam described the colors and the style for the table cloth. Ma'am Hja. Juanita followed the instruction.

Time came when I saw unintentionally while conversing with school heads and teachers in the district office. To his sight appeared the table cloth with nice design but different color to what the PSDS expected.

September 14-15, 2016 housed Sulu PSDS and personnel of Division Planning Office for the 2-Day Geotagging Validation Workshop in City Inn Hotel, Zamboanga City. SDS, Dr Tim J. Undain, FRIEdr spearheaded the Sulu participants as required by BEAM-ARMM. The workshop focused on the validation of all schools' geotagging reports which were previously submitted to the DepED Regional Office. BEAM-ARMM secretariats provided every Sulu participant with a map where Sulu schools appeared. Unfortunately, some were in uncertain locations based on the latitude and longitude coordinates. Correction on that matter was the activity done by the PSDS and other Sulu school officials. The beauty of that workshop was the significant learning of the participants in using the google earth apps facilitated by the BEAM-ARMM secretariats.

When Thong Jikiri Meets Prof. Santoli for the Second Time Around

In November, 2007, Hji. Thong Jikiri, Brother of new Mayor-elect, Hon. Hji. Hermot D. Jikiri of Indanan Municipality fetched Prof. Albert Santoli in Jolo to visit Pasil Elementary School headed by TIC (Teacher In-Charge) Samoore S. Ladjahali who is now Public Schools District Supervisor of Indanan South District. That time, Thong was Sulu Provincial Board Member.

Last September 7, 2016, both shoked hands again as a revival of friendship with utterance from Thong's tongue, "Can you still remember me?"

"Of course," AAI President replied.

Both were in a great laughter as a sign of happiness despite the peace and order in JIP (Jolo Indanan Patikul) areas seemed volatile. For the safety of the foreign visitor to Indanan, Barangay Chairwoman of Bunot, sister-in-law of Thong used the white strada of the former Sulu Provincial Board Member to fetch Bro. Al from Notre Dame of Jolo College Hotel to visit ISD Office and four (4) schools of ISD. Thong was so proud of his car would be used for Prof. Santoli by his sister-in-law.

PSDS Moore: Thank you to the ever-active support of Bunot ES teachers, pupils and parents spearheaded by their Barangay Chairwoman

Public Schools District Supervisor Moore seems not just a friend of Albert Santoli; rather; a brother. 'Bro' is a common address used by either of them. When Sir Sam learned that his Bro decided to Bunot Elementary School, Poblacion Elementary School and Pasil Elementary School on September 7, 2016 depite the all-out war against ASG that affected the JIP (Jolo Indanan Patikul) areas, he got worried for the branded vehicle be used during the school visitation. Alhamdulillah, Jurmainna H. Hunding, Head Teacher 3 of Bunot ES wholeheartedly did a excellent initiative to negotiate her Barangay Chairwoman, Hon. Hja. Monalyn "Ayang" Askali Resurreccion to spearhead Bunot teachers, pupils and parents in fetching AAI (Asisa America Initiative) President from the NDJC Hotel to the aforementioned schools and vice versa.

In the evening before the arrival of Santoli in Jolo Port via Wessam Express, Hja. Ayang dialed her mobile phone to PSDS asking what time would be the journey. Sir Moore replied that the assembly area would be ISD Office at exactly 7:00 o'clock in the morning before proceeding to the Notre Dame of Jolo College Campus.

It was the BLGU officials led by Aksan Mudjamil that the school returned again to its original site through the initiative of Mussah A. Arabain Head Teacher 3 of Panglima Ahajan Elementary School and the TIC of the school. Geo-tagging report made Cmdr. Bara Jalaidi decide for its homecoming from the playground of Panglima Ahajan ES for more than a decade. Its relocation was due to peace and order prevailing in Barangay Karawan those days.

In the morning, all of us, teachers and non-teaching personnel were in Pasil, Indanan, Sulu attending the Ceremonial Party of new Mayor-elect, Hon. Hermot "Moy" D. Jikiri. As we went home after lunch time, Nikka Trading representatives were already in ISD Office filling out some forms for the official release and distribution of educational supplies for the entire schools of Indanan South District.

He is the only trained teacher from Indanan South District on the newly-prescribed TOS (Table Of Specification) using KAR (Knowing Applying Reasoning) in the K to 12 Basice Education Curriculum. Thus, PSDS Sam asked him to present it during the 1-Day District Learning Forum (DLF) conducted in the ISD Office last August 23, 2016. Unfortunately, he was not around because there was no written communication sent by the district office to his immediate school head teacher 3, Jurmainna H. Hunding. Generosity Begins in ISD Office

A great seedling of legacy grew stronger in Indanan South District Office initiated by DepED-ARMM Secretary, Dr. John A. Magno. To PSDS Moore, the P 150,000.00 plus P 100,000.00 indeed built the ISD Office where school heads and other personnel of the district eventually learned to show their generosity in quest of development and innovation. For Teacher-Students' Recreational Activity, Seating Facilities Don't Matter

What about for the Teaching-Learning Activity in the classroom, too, do seating facilities matter? This question is raised on the basis on the outlook shown by the posted-photos in Facebook Website by the ISD District ICT Coordinator observing 2 teaching loads in Poblacion Elementary School, Sharifa Mharrojheanne A. Alih (RoyalChic Sharif Alih).

They removed the desks and chairs to free themselves from congestion inside their learning session hall, the classroom. They called that activity, Recreational Activity. Teacher Sharifa displayed better pattern for classroom-teaching-learning environment that enticed more students' enthusiasm towards day-to-day learning areas.

Cleanliness comes first inside classroom especially on the flooring. Most of the household members at home sits on the floor without using chairs or desks. Most  of the flooring of houses in Sulu were set with clean sliced bamboo. It is a less-good mode for the students to work with their homeworks compared to their classrooms. The only difference is free-in slippers or shows on the floor where at home it is impossible to happen except for those visitors. Admittedly yes, it should be that way in so far as better health is concerned. Wearing slippers or shoes inside concrete classroom is strongly enjoined by DepED to avoid bits of causes for the students to get sick. Do we need carpeted classroom? Teacher is a doctor, accordingly. They know better what to use in lieu of carpet.

Sharifa's classroom indicated her utilization of the strongly-suggested teaching approaches under K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Assil to do a room-to-room monitoring in a sense that he observes his 2 teaching loads or attached to that school; rather; Sir Moore asked him to seek permission from his Principal, Nur-aisha A. Gonzales for the PSDS utilization of him in the monitoring team. In the same manner, Jahaddi J. Taulani did it in Panglima Mammah Elementary School headed by School Caretaker, Josefina S. Ajijul. First in Campus Journalism: Bunot ES

Bunot Elementary School just elevated itself into complete elementary status in 2012 through the potential and initiative of the school head, Jurmainna H. Hunding, Head Teacher III. After short year of elevation, it is now coming up with the creation of its campus journalism writers. Bunot Elementary School is lucky enough in having Alnashvier I. Abduljalil, Grade 3 Adviser. It is with this new teacher of Grade 3 that started journalism in his class entitle 'LANGKING'. Nash already started some volumes of the school publication months ago. He presented it to the Public Schools District Supervisor, Samoore S. Ladjahali for comment. The PSDS was so  amazed in seeing the Grade 3 learners' achievement that would serve as their legacy in Bunot Elementary School.

JUST SAYING: OF REASON, RESPECT AND DIGNITY

It is a message of DepED-ARMM Secretary, Dr. John A. Magno posted in his Facebook Wall fifty-five minutes ago. This post was tagged to Asec for Special Projects, Alfhadar Pajiji and 22 others. It reached to get 52 likes as of this moment including the District In-Charge of Indanan North District and PSDS of Indanan South District. The post got 3 shares and 10 comments.
There is a wide gulf that separates someone schooled from someone educated. And mistake never that they are one and the same. Our responsibility is to know the difference and be sensitive to it. Not to mention the “danger” of the schooled but uneducated.
Everyday is an endless encounter – meeting people and finding awe in their persons. Surely, this world is pressed between the realities of the sincere and the lurking motives of the unpredictable insincere. One thing is certain: we are endlessly immersed in the ambivalence of persons. It becomes an interesting point, however, that some people breathe their life in the challenges of everyday encounters while others feed on the greed that becomes the elixir of endless criticism and suspicion. The reality of differences is easily eclipsed by the selfish motives of looking at a blank wall and painting their own realities on it – believing that this is the world, nothing more, nothing less. In the process, myopia becomes their reality and respect and dignity take a backseat. It is a phenomenon that goes beyond reason – beyond the respect that things ought to have because differences are necessary.
One human reality is the categorization that people go through. It is the categorization that man has learned to do over centuries. But this categorization, although never mandated by the Divine and is purely mundane, causes the world to turn upside-down. The extreme is when people are categorized in boxes with stereotypes that males are “superior” and women are otherwise and that the emergence of social preferences are absolute taboos. But society itself must appropriately respond to the realities are undeniably present and that everyone have niches in a society that is not necessarily permissive but respectful. As the world turns, so must the very society that defines and redefines life.
The Divine created all of us and whatever differences among us exists, they can never be ignored but necessarily respected in whatever manner they are.
There is no law that states preference for any particular gender because each is unique in its own way. And each completes the puzzle that this world has provided for. The premise has, is and will always be the same – that each has a right to live and define a place under the sun. Each defines the dignity he has right over – steadily weaved by the labor he makes and is defined by the acceptance of the very society within which he lives. No one has the absolute right to harm or disrespect anyone not unless he loses his very own dignity, respect and worth. Everyone has the right to live his own way for as long as he never harms anyone.
Life is like a sailing boat and we stand at the stern to direct its course. The world is likened to it and each side is balanced by the genders. Any segregation and discrimination leads the world to an abhorrent end.
I am proud of who I am!

5 Wooden Round Tables Donated by Chairperson of Barangay Manilop

PSDS Sam really appreciated Ummal Suhaili, Barangay Chairperson of Barangay Manilop, Indanan, Sulu for donating P 5,000.00 for the purchase of 5 wooden round tables though it was just verbal request conveyed thru Nuradal A. Rabbayani, Teacher I of Manilop Primary School. The amount was given in cash to PSDS Moore. Sir Moore was able to buy four pieces of round tables at the amount of P 970.00 each. The remaining amount which is about P 1,200.00 will be used for the purchase of one plywood and other lumbers. That plywood will cut into two pieces which are good for two long tables. The long tables will be used for holding conference among school administrators and district staff inside the district office. The round tables will just be used for conducting DLF (District Learning Forum) or workshop among school heads.

One of the round tables shall remain inside the ISD Office for the visitors or teachers to fix their documents before submitting to the Information Personnel of the District. Sir Moore also plans to put ballpen, elmer's glue, scissors, white out and stapler over that round table. Three armless plastic chairs shall be set up around the table for the visitors to  sit on. The table and the chairs will fixed in the corner of the ISD Office between the two windows near the door. It will be wrapped with light blue table cloth the same with the three chairs.

Two long tables will be constructed out of one whole plywood. It will be joined together when there is meeting with school  heads and staff.
